Monkeys With Machineguns Live!

Monkeys With Machineguns Live!

Myself and Chris Lynch have decided to do one more issue of Monkeys With Machineguns. This isn’t neccessarilly the end of MWM, but we want to draw a close to the 1st bit of MWM work. We will be doing this by bringing out a Trade Paperback of all the MWM stories, remastered and coloured.

To top off the book, we will be doing one more issue of MWM, which will have a limited print as a ‘floppy’, but also close off the new trade, both of which will launch at Bristol Comics Expo 2012 with the Trade being available via amazon and Fatboy Publishing. This is where you come in…

I need artists who would like to guest in the book, for either sequential art or pin-ups. If you would like to include yourself as guest artist and join the hallowed halls of fame of previous MWM guest artists such as Mark Smith and Christian Ward, please email me at stu.art@monkeyswithmachineguns.com with samples of your work or a link to an online portfolio.

Spread the word chimps!

Finally 10thology has a ‘face’.

Below is the cover for the CICE 2011 exclusive launch of 10thology.

I’m very pleased with the design, I wanted it to break away from conventional comic book cover design and present something a bit more graphic and as always I have fun playing with ‘white space’.

The 10thology site is now live so stay tuned for more 10thology news as the promotional machine kicks in in February.

Batman Sketch in colour

Back in BICS this year I had a very busy time doing sketch commissions, although I did have a few spare moments (mostly when the big panels were on I think) and I drew a few things for myself. One of these was a Batman sketch with the ‘poncey art-school’ approach of ‘drawing the light’. Anyway it actually came out quite cool and was picked up by Marc Olivent.

Marc sent me a scanned and coloured version, which I think does the piece justice very well with a dark, moody pallette.

Cheers again Marc!

I will be doing sketches for £5 each. Chris and I also have some limited edition (only 100) oversized postcards of the never seen before MWM story ‘Number 100′. These are only £1 each or for the £5 I will sketch on the back or Chris will write you some Flash Fiction.

MWM Sidekick Interview

MWM Sidekick Interview

If you happen to have a spare couple of hours, then why not go check out the “interview” we did with Bones and Marshall on the first night of the Bristol SPExpo.

I say “interview” because it descends into me and Chris blathering fairly sharpish, before turning into 4 nerds having a chat in the bar!

Seriously though, the guys atually managed to wrangle some stuff out of us and I think it actually makes for an entertaining listen.
